Pasta Salad with Veggies

My favorite way to consume cucumbers is in a pasta salad. Throughout the summer, I always have a version of this pasta salad in our refrigerator. I pull it out for snacks and most lunches. I also like that I can optionally add different vegetables I may have on hand. I took this version to book club recently and it was a hit.
Total Time: 20 Minutes

Ingredients
1 lb pasta shells, your choice
1 1/2 cups cucumbers, diced or chunky
1/2 cup onion, diced or sliced (this can be red, yellow or white)
1 tomato, chunky (optional)
Peas, drained (optional)
Chicken, bacon or ham (optional if you want some extra protein)
1 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp sugar
2 tbsp fresh dill
2 tbsp white vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Feta or goat cheese (optional)
Directions
Cook pasta to package instructions
Drain your pasta
Combine your pasta, vegetables and additional ingredients and stir
I like to refrigerate mine at least one hour before serving
