Sauteed Cabbage

The quickest and easiest way to make cabbage is this! Really let the cabbage set while cooking to allow it to caramelize, and it turns out great every time. You can also add carrots or even bacon to this dish.

Prep Time: 5 Minutes | Cook Time: 15 Minutes

Ingredients

  • One small head of cabbage, chopped

  • 1 tbsp avocado oil (or EVOO)

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 1 ½ tsp kosher salt

  • 1 tsp pepper

  • ½ tablespoon apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tbsp freshly chopped thyme (optional)

Directions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat

  2. Add oil and butter

  3. Once butter has melted, add your cabbage, salt and pepper

  4. Sautee for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the cabbage is tender and begins to brown.  Do not feel like you constantly need to stir, leaving the cabbage undisturbed for a few minutes at a time will allow it to caramelize.

  5. Remove from heat and stir in the apple cider vinegar, and sprinkle in your thyme
